We’re pleased to announce that Welbilt has chosen Shawton Energy as its renewable energy partner for a new commercial rooftop solar installation, marking another significant step in the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

With a reputation built on quality, reliability and innovation, Welbilt is now extending that same forward-thinking approach to how it powers its operations.
A high-impact solar installation
The rooftop solar PV system will be installed at Welbilt’s facility, harnessing unused roof space to generate clean, renewable electricity on-site. Once operational, the system will play a key role in reducing the site’s reliance on grid electricity and lowering its carbon footprint.
The project will deliver:
✓ 690.5 kWp rooftop solar PV system
✓ 648,982 kWh of clean electricity generated annually
✓ 137,550 kg of CO₂ emissions saved each year
To put this into perspective, the annual carbon savings from this installation are equivalent to taking dozens of cars off the road each year — a meaningful contribution to Welbilt’s sustainability goals and the wider drive toward decarbonising industrial energy use.
