Solar PV power project for HSL Chairs

Project Details

HSL Chairs

We worked with HSL’s landlord, CBREIM, to understand the requirements of both themselves and HSL to ensure we delivered a solution that delivered on both party’s objectives. A true collaboration between three engaged businesses. The project based in Leeds was designed to deliver long-term renewable energy for HSL and a happy and stable tenant for CBREIM.

The Process

01 Bespoke Turnkey Solution

By thoroughly analysing their energy usage, costs, and site layout, Shawton Energy crafted a customised, turnkey solution tailored to the specific needs of both HSL and the Landlord CBREIM.

02 Unintrusive Installation Plan

The Solar PV installation was completed in under 3 weeks with zero disruption to operations.

03 A Collaborative Approach For Success

We sat down with HSL to understand what their drivers were for this project and understood they wanted to protect themselves from the rising costs of energy but also go a long way to achieving their Net Zero ambitions which their customers were keen to see. CBREIM also identified they wanted to provide their tenants with lower energy costs but also retain their tenants for longer terms. We analysed the current energy usage and the physical site requirements to design a system that ensured they had minimal excess energy to export and to allow them to use as much of the renewable energy they generated as possible. It was also important to them that their day-to-day operations were not impacted due to a busy site.

Could your business benefit from solar energy?

The Result

In just over 3 weeks, we installed a 125kWP system that is now providing HSL with 115,678kWh of energy annually which provides them with 40% of their annual electricity requirement, with minimal disruption to their day-to-day site operations. This means that HSL are avoiding over 34 tonnes of carbon annually and provides a boost to their Net Zero targets.

It has also allowed CBREIM to provide their customer with an enhanced site which will mean secured tenancy for years to come. Shawton Energy will continue to work with HSL and CBREIM by ensuring the projects continues to operate effectively by providing an annual maintenance service – ensuring that the property will retain a valuable asset for both the current tenant and future tenants for years to come.

“Normally negotiations with any landlord can be difficult, however, this proposal was something where everyone benefitted, and we could all walk away happy. The inclusion of PV has increased our enjoyment of the property and has reduced significantly our running costs. Shawton Energy made, what can be contrived as complicated, very straightforward. Their works to our premises were done in both a timely and professional manner. We are very pleased with the result. We thank the landlord for proposing it, and we would happily recommend.”
