Inspired Global Cuisine (IGC)

With energy-intensive production operations, IGC sought a renewable energy solution to lower costs, reduce emissions, and strengthen its sustainability strategy. To achieve this, the company partnered with Shawton Energy to deliver a large-scale rooftop solar installation designed to generate significant long-term environmental and financial benefits.

The Process

Shawton Energy delivered a 3.06 MWp rooftop solar PV system for IGC under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This arrangement allowed IGC to generate renewable electricity on-site with no upfront capital investment while benefiting from predictable, low-cost energy over the contract term.

Comprising 6,000 high-efficiency 510W solar panels and 25 inverters rated at 90kW each, the system covers approximately 13,342 m² of roof space. The installation was carried out between 22 September and 12 December 2025 as part of a carefully coordinated 12-week programme. The work was managed to maintain normal production schedules and ensure uninterrupted site operations throughout the process.

Could your business benefit from solar energy?

The Results

Now fully operational, the rooftop solar system produces around 2,738,383 kWh of renewable electricity each year, cutting approximately 580,441 kg of carbon annually.

By significantly reducing its reliance on grid energy, IGC has improved both its sustainability credentials and its long-term energy resilience. The project reinforces the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility while demonstrating how large-scale manufacturing facilities can achieve meaningful carbon and cost reductions through clean energy adoption.
